"Let him deny himself"

"For the Son of man shall come in the glory
of his Father with his angels;
and then he shall reward every man
according to his works."
Matthew 16:27

This is definitely what we are waiting for or should be waiting for. It should be every Christian´s desire to see Jesus! Oh, what a day that will be!

It is so appropriate how this verse comes after the Lord speaks on denying oneself and following Him. When we accept what Jesus did on the cross for us and repent of our sin we are immediately His child. However, Jesus says "If any man will come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross, and follow me." I look at this as a daily walk with Him.

I am definitely not the one to preach this sermon!

It seems that denying oneself includes time, feelings, personal space, and even desires. These things don´t automatically fall under submission. It´s work. It´s a daily battle.

When Jesus comes, how will he find me? What state of mind and heart will I be in?

Today, I want to think of the beauty of His second coming. I want to see my Saviors face, but what will He see in me?

"Cleanse my heart oh God. May I be like you. You are the Potter, I am the clay. Mold me and make me. This is what I pray. " (this may be a mixture of two songs)

Seeking His face,
