Mele Kalikimaka!

"Is thing to say on bright Hawaiian Christmas day."

NO? We aren´t in Hawaii???

Well, I tried. I guess we aren´t in Hawaii, but we have gotten our Bing Crosby cd out! Our tree is up, and we are just really getting excited for Christmas. I think this is the earliest we have gotten everything up.

The boys put the tree up early this week. It´s amazing that they can actually put it together without my help now. I did put the lights on though, and decorated it. I like a themed tree now, seens how my childhood ornaments got lost in one of our moves.

It looks a little bare. Wonder what I am missing?

You can´t see the lights. There are so many of them!

Anyway, it has really helped our home get into the Christmas spirit.

This is how we celebrate Mary´s Immaculate Conception holiday here in Spain. It´s a big holiday right before Christmas. Most Spaniards get together with their family and eat.

We stayed up to watch good ol´American Football! And we will go out to eat tomorrow.

Missin´all our family but trying to get singing the Christmas Spirit anyway.

What kinds of things do you do to get into the Christmas Spirit with your family?

Come and join in
 Making your home sing Mondays

  1. Your tree is so pretty! We have ours up too, and I don't think we have ever decorated this early either, but I'm glad it's done!

When the kids were little we would get caroling and they loved it. We used to do things like look at Christmas lights, go to a Christmas play, decorate cookies, watch a Christmas movie on t.v. and buy Christmas gifts for a stranger (our church supplies the names from families in the community who are in need), etc.

    Thanks for linking up!

  2. I love your tree. It's very pretty.
And girl you crack me up! I see you must have changed your background before I had a chance to bust you on picking mine. LOL. I almost picked this one but changed my mind at the last second. It looks really cute on your blog.
We just got done making gingerbread houses. I had sugar all over me! Quite funny.

  8. Its a holiday here too, but no one "celebrates", its just a day off.
The men of the Church are going to the camp to play soccer.

Its hard to feel Christmassy here because it is Summer. But because there was so much German immigration in the last century, there is quite a bit of Christmas decorating and such. Most people in our Church had their tree up before we did!

  10. We do just what you have done: listen to Christmas music and decorate the house with lots of green stuff, lights, bows, holly, snowmen, and yummy smelling candles.

  14. Hey girl!
    The tree looks good:)
We also miss family this time of year.
Our family reads the Christmas story every day during the month of December to help us remember the true meaning of Christmas. By the end of the month, even the little ones have it memorized:)
