The Good Ol´ Fashioned Sunday Tradition

OH, the memories!

Get a big bucket of fried chicken and potato wedges and you have an instant picnic. Add old fashioned clothes and a model T (or whatever type of car that is) and you have a Good ol´Fashioned Sunday Picnic!

Did you ever have one of these?

I have such sweet memories of these days. Yes, even the Watermelon-seed-spitting contest!

The year was probably 1986 or 1987. I think I was about 11 or 12 at the time. I remember because of the glasses and the pre- braces days. That man at my side, of course is my Dad. I love this picture because, it´s one of the few pictures I have with my Dad. He or I were usually the ones taking pictures.

What are your photo flashbacks? Come and join in with us on Fridays at More than Words.

  1. wow! beautiful..this photo is like taken from a 1980's movie..:)

  2. our family would have picnic sunday as well they were greattime to just get away

  3. Love the pic! :D We didn't ever have huge SONday dinners, but it sounds like fun!

  4. Are both of your eyes closed?! (How funny!)

    That's a great picture!!

I don't think many churches do that sort of thing anymore. No one has the time, or wants to sweat out in the sun.....

  5. What a darlin' picture of you and your dad! Your picnic sounds mouth watering!

  6. Okay, now I'm craving for fried chicken and potato wedges! LOL

What a great vintage'ish photo of you and your dad! Is that your car too?

  7. Oh my word, where did you get that picture? Those were the days, huh? That was George Denny's car.

  8. Hi Mom! It was in my album from when I was a kid. Do you remeber the year? I don´t exactly remember. I was kind of guessing.

  9. Oh, yes, fun Sunday family church picnics! That is a great photo of you and your dad. And an awesome car :o)

    Blessings & Aloha!
