Fitness Friday on the Road! --- Carjercise?

It is possible!!
Jazzercise on an 8 hour road trip turns into Car-jer-cise! (not that I even jazzercise though.)
Half an hour of leg lifts and stepping in place gets the heart rate up and burns calories that normally wouldn´t burn just stitting. Now of course, I couldn´t count those calories but I know I got my heart rate up.

A stop at Burger King for the family, might turn into a big problem for anyone on a fitness journey, but just take the bun off any delicious sandwich and you have a small salad with meat!! Since I promised myself no bread this trip and as little as possible starchy, high carb foods, this worked out perfect for me.

However, there is one thing I had to do. You just can´t pass by Madrid and the outlets (that we don´t have in our neck of the woods) with out getting a Starbucks Frappaccino!! Pilar is in total agreement. ( check out her post about it) It´s one of our favorites!! I tried the caramel light coffee Frapp. this time. I went light to cut back on the sugar and had less whip cream than normal. It was so worth it, though!! Maybe I can get on Pilar´s elliptical machine tonight to burn off the excess calories.

We are so privileged to be able to get to be with the Stark family this weekend in the beautiful and cultural city of Granada! I have never been there and I am so excited to see this area of Spain. Not to mention, spending quality Christian fellowship with our fellow missionaries and friends!

Pilar´s husband and my hubby, will be going head to head (literally) Saturday in an American football game. The Gijón Mariners vs. the Granada Lions. Two pastor missionaries, playing their hearts out and bashing their bodies in order to reach out to other players in their communities and tell them about Jesus´ love. This is definitely called sacrificial love!

So my dear Fitness Friday friends, this concludes this week´s segment. Don´t forget if you are on a road trip, CAR-JER- CISE!!!!

  7. We love Fraps. My son googled a recipe and now we make them at home!

Glad you could spend time with your friends. I'll have to tell my hubby about your hubbys playing football for Jesus.

We suffered for Jesus at Disneyland once, does that count, lol!
